India: Northern Railways restores steam engines to give tourism a boost

Steam engine WG 10253 built in 1955 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works was on display at Bhusawal railway station.

After restoring and making it functional, railway authorities are planning to run it for tourist service. The steam engine WG 10253 last saw service in 1992 and it will be nearly 26 years after which its firebox will be lit again in next two to three months.
